Waste Workshop: Introduction to Industrial Waste Regulations

In just a single morning, we can educate your team on the basics of waste regulations and how they can impact your business.

Our primary workshop, Introduction to Industrial Waste Regulations is a simple, to-the-point “rules of the game” presentation that breaks down the complex environmental rules in layman’s terms.*

The following topics are covered:

  • Waste classification, including what counts as hazardous waste and the differences between Class 1 and Class 2 waste.
  • Waste generator status, including what drives your status as a Very Small Quantity Generator, Small Quantity Generator, or Large Quantity Generator
  • Basic waste requirements, including tips on registering with the TCEQ/EPA, labelling, storage, shipping, and documentation
  • Superfund, including what it is, how it works, and what it means for your business
  • Waste manifests, including how to read and store them, and some common mistakes for you to avoid
  • Examples, analysis, and discussion of actual TCEQ and EPA violations and what we can earn from them

* Valley's Introduction to Industrial Waste Regulations training is helpful and can make a material difference to your company, but is not an 8-hour Hazwoper course or a 40-hour RCRA course.

"My EHS manager expressed that he really enjoyed the waste workshop and the way Russell presented the information. He was expecting 'another boring presentation,' but said Russell was on point and had his interest 100% of the time. His supervisor asked me to let him know when the next one was so he could have a couple more folks attend."

—Juan, Operations Manager, Houston, TX

"I LOVE my waste workshop certificate, and I was very impressed with the class and really enjoyed the workshop. Russell presented the course in a manner that really captured my attention, especially when he used [famous horror villain] "Jason" to describe different types of wastes. I can't for the next one so I can have my co-manager participate!"

—Maria, EHS Supervisor, Fort Worth, TX
